P2319: Coil G circuit high and the significance of the active command
Learn how P2319 distinguishes a coil G primary-driver high fault from an ordinary high signal outside the monitored command.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 documented monitor only; its application-matrix filename join is unresolved. No model, engine or universal calibration applicability is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
The cited P2319 monitor watches the coil G low-side driver for a high voltage while it is commanded on. GM identifies that combination as a short-to-power fault class. The voltage and command must be considered together; the same voltage at another point in the ignition cycle is not the complete diagnostic evidence.
Eligibility and persistence
The engine must be synchronized for ignition and running above 1,400 rpm. More than nine ignition-counter increments are also required. These conditions prevent a stationary connector check from being mistaken for a repeat of the controller’s monitored event. The documented interval is 0.4 seconds, with two-trip reporting.
What a useful comparison shows
Compare P2319 with the adjacent P2318 logic only at the level the source supports: the high fault is assessed in the on state, while the low fault is assessed in the off state. Capturing only an average voltage may conceal that distinction. An applicable service procedure is needed for the actual measurement method and circuit access.
Coil G is a channel designation, not a cylinder number supplied by this table. Confirm the engine’s mapping before locating the circuit. Neither the code nor the monitor row independently proves a defective coil, damaged wiring or a failed controller output.
Document scope and source
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 documented monitor only; its application-matrix filename join is unresolved. No model, engine or universal calibration applicability is inferred. These figures explain the cited controller logic, not a vehicle-specific repair instruction. Match the vehicle’s service information before applying them.
