P2384: EGR differential-pressure signal changes too quickly
P2384 checks consecutive low-pressure EGR pressure-sensor readings for an excessive step change.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2384 is an intermittent-signal diagnosis for the low-pressure EGR differential-pressure sensor. The monitor compares consecutive raw readings and fails when the magnitude of their difference exceeds 10.00%. The word “intermittent” therefore has a concrete meaning here: an excessively rapid signal step.
How the controller qualifies it
The source specifies 300 failed samples out of 600 on a 6.25 ms task. Calibration and the diagnostic system must enable the test, run/crank must be active, cranking must have ended and relay voltage must exceed 11 V. Electrical high and low faults for this sensor must not be present. Reporting is Type A, one trip.
Why an average can miss the evidence
A steady scan average can appear reasonable while brief sample-to-sample jumps exceed the monitor's threshold. Retain the fastest useful recorded signal and the fault's operating context when supported by the service equipment. A constant bias, by contrast, is not the specific change-rate mechanism described by this code.
The electrical-range exclusions also matter: a clipped high or low signal may direct the diagnosis to another code and inhibit this one. Verification needs a completed dynamic-signal check under enabled conditions, not merely a plausible single pressure value. The table establishes the detection method but no connector location or proven failure cause.
Source and application limits
This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 1451.
