P245F: Pressure-sensor B performance is assessed after electrical checks

Learn Ford P245F’s offset and flow-dependent rationality context, including the incomplete printed offset criterion.

Documented application

Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD summary, July 16, 2024 revision; only the described monitor and architecture. Model, engine and calibration fitment are not inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P245F is the range/performance classification for particulate-filter pressure sensor B in Ford’s functionality monitor. It maps to P245E_92 and runs after the pressure-sensor electrical checks complete. Passing an electrical range check therefore does not, by itself, establish that the pressure information is plausible.

Offset and running rationality use different conditions

The offset branch requires the engine not to be turning, with further conditions for a post-run check. The running rationality branch instead compares average measured pressure with an expected pressure that depends on exhaust flow. Its criterion is accumulated over a stated total of 20 seconds.

These branches cannot be verified with one arbitrary pressure snapshot. A value suitable for a running-flow comparison is not the same observation as an engine-stopped offset measurement.

Preserve the source’s incomplete expression

The offset threshold paragraph ends with an unfinished “OR” after its stated pressure range. This article does not reconstruct the missing alternative or present the fragment as a complete acceptance rule. The table’s derivative conditions also require the correct direction of changing flow.

Record electrical-check completion, engine state, relevant flow and temperature information, and which performance branch was evaluated. The summary does not identify whether a discrepancy originates in sensor offset, pressure plumbing or another cause. The applicable procedure must establish that before a sensor or filter replacement is considered.
