Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD summary, July 16, 2024 revision; only the described monitor and architecture. Model, engine and calibration fitment are not inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2600 identifies the control-circuit/open classification for coolant pump A. In the cited Ford architecture, A means the high-temperature-loop auxiliary pump used for cabin heating. That function is more informative than assuming A always means the main engine water pump.
Circuit monitoring does not measure heat output
The pump monitor runs continuously, lists five seconds of monitoring, and requires at least 11 V battery voltage. An open-circuit result is distinct from the separately listed performance/stuck-off, actuator-stuck and supply-voltage classifications.
A weak cabin-heating complaint may be relevant to the operating history, but it is not the electrical criterion described by P2600. Similarly, a pump that is presently quiet cannot be judged without knowing whether the system requested its operation.
Establish identity and electrical evidence
Retain the complete P2600_13 representation, the pump function defined for the actual vehicle, battery voltage and related pump-control codes. The source provides no connector pin or universal resistance threshold for this open classification. Those must come from the applicable circuit information.
The same table explicitly assigns low and high circuit faults to separate subtypes. Keeping them separate avoids using an open-circuit assumption to explain every pump-control code. Verification should establish the relevant control path before concluding that an internal motor, external connection or controller is defective. The summary describes monitor behavior; it does not support replacing the cooling system’s main pump from this code.
