P2762: Torque-converter solenoid performance has several electrical branches

Understand the current, frequency and duty-cycle distinctions behind P2762 before attributing it to clutch hydraulics.

Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG06C documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability must be confirmed from the matching service information; no model fitment is inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2762 supervises the torque-converter clutch pressure-control solenoid’s electrical performance. The GM summary includes several routes to this code, so “performance” does not identify a single measured quantity or directly prove that the clutch hydraulics failed.

Identify the failing electrical comparison

One branch compares desired and measured current, using an absolute difference of at least 100 mA. The criteria sentence ends without the duration, but the same row’s Time Required column explicitly supplies one second, with checks every 100 milliseconds.

Another branch evaluates switching frequency in relation to whether the solenoid is energized. A third checks agreement between the driver’s commanded duty cycle and the duty cycle measured by the transmission controller. Correct current at one moment does not demonstrate that those other checks passed.

Respect the transition exclusions

The current branch excludes shifting and torque-converter clutch engagement or disengagement, together with certain neutral-control operations. The other branches also require sound solenoid and high-side-driver diagnostics, valid supply and appropriate time after transitions. A trace taken during an excluded maneuver does not reproduce an eligible test.

Retain the branch, commanded state and electrical response rather than treating this as a generic pressure complaint. The current, frequency and duty-cycle branches should be matched to their own enable conditions and timing rather than combined into one test. It does not specify a solenoid replacement or an internal clutch repair.
