Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0754 is the intermittent electrical classification for shift solenoid A in Ford's general table, shown with P0750_1F. The intermittency belongs to the control-circuit report. It should not be renamed as a hydraulic sticking result solely because a shift also felt irregular.
Keep electrical timing separate from functional counting
Ford describes electrical checks as continuous, with a typical smart-driver fault-feedback threshold of 1.5 seconds. Its separate functional strategy operates during control transitions and uses a count-up/count-down event filter. That functional counter is not published as a dedicated P0754 recurrence threshold.
The A-channel list also distinguishes an open circuit, a ground short and a power short from the intermittent category. Preserving the complete failure suffix is useful when a scanner simplifies several of those results into a short component label.
Capture what changed when the fault appeared
An informative recording pairs command state, circuit-fault status and the timing of any interruption. If the transmission shifts normally after the event, that observation does not reconstruct the earlier electrical condition. Conversely, a speed flare without electrical evidence does not demonstrate P0754's circuit failure.
The summary does not locate the intermittent path or provide a universal wiggle test, resistance value or connector assignment. Those details must come from the applicable transmission procedure. Verification should show whether the electrical classification returns under comparable conditions and should keep it separate from P0751/P0752 functional state faults.
