Documented application
2004 Nissan Quest factory AT manual, RE5F22A transmission section, January 2005 revision. Other transmission variants require their own procedure.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0775 in the 2004 Nissan Quest RE5F22A transmission procedure identifies trouble with pressure-control solenoid B. This normally-high linear solenoid controls shift pressure and operates different hydraulic elements according to the gear being used.
Compare requested output with monitored response
Nissan recognizes two diagnostic paths: abnormal electrical voltage from an open or short, and disagreement between the target and monitored values. The scan procedure therefore examines both the commanded solenoid output and its monitored current. Looking only at the requested output would miss a failure to deliver that request.
The reference current also changes with the lever's manual-gate state. Use the documented selector condition when comparing a reading with its reference; a difference between two legitimate operating states is not automatically a fault.
Localize before opening the transmission
The factory sequence separates the circuit measured from the TCM, the terminal-cord assembly, the harness between them, and the solenoid-side wiring. That structure matters because an external connection failure and an internal solenoid problem can produce similar scan results.
If the internal component fails its specified inspection, the manual gives a control-valve-assembly repair path. It does not authorize that replacement merely because P0775 is stored. Preserve the failed test and its temperature condition in the repair record.
Verification uses the dedicated confirmation routine after repairs. These details apply to the RE5F22A section, not every transmission installed in vehicles carrying the Quest name.
