P210A: The bank 2 throttle circuit code has separate open-load and thermal paths
Learn why P210A cannot be diagnosed from a generic circuit-open label without identifying the power-stage failure category.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 monitor tables only; model, engine and transmission applicability are not established by the unresolved application-matrix filename join.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P210A identifies throttle actuator B motor circuit/open in the generic catalog. The GM bank 2 monitor assigns this code to multiple driver-related paths, including open-load behavior and an internal power-stage overtemperature error.
Open load and overheating are different observations
The open-load row evaluates the H-bridge circuit's off-state voltage response and lists a 0.8-second failure period. The thermal path reports the power-stage IC's own overtemperature error and uses a much shorter listed evaluation period.
The distinction changes what evidence is relevant. An electrical continuity observation may help investigate an interrupted load path but cannot independently establish whether the power stage reported overheating. The generic code label does not identify which path failed.
Keep the source’s uncertain branch separate
A third row describes turbine-bypass-valve driver faults even though it sits in the bank 2 throttle section and uses throttle enable conditions. The source does not resolve that wording on these pages. This article therefore does not translate the branch into a guessed component location or replacement.
Preserve controller identification, available subtest status, position validity and the operating state around the fault. The tables reference safety and adaptation conditions that can prevent a comparable retest. A later absence of the code while the stage is inhibited does not establish a pass. Determine the applicable diagnostic path and vehicle procedure before deciding whether the cause lies in an external circuit, motor load or control electronics.
