Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD summary, July 16, 2024 revision; only the described monitor and architecture. Model, engine and calibration fitment are not inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2461 is Ford’s high analog circuit classification for particulate-filter pressure sensor B. The detailed representation is P245E_17, and the published electrical criterion is sensor voltage above 4.73 V for five seconds. This reports an out-of-range signal, not direct proof that the filter itself is restricted.
Keep the sensor circuit and filter function separate
The analog circuit-monitor group operates continuously and lists a five-second duration. Filter restriction monitoring elsewhere uses eligible exhaust flow, warm-up conditions and normalized pressure relationships. Those functional criteria cannot be replaced by the high-voltage code alone.
The source also distinguishes analog pressure sensing from SENT implementations. Confirming the architecture is necessary before using 4.73 V as a relevant threshold; it is not a universal digital data-line limit.
Record channel identity and signal history
Preserve the complete code, sensor B mapping, signal level and any companion circuit or supply faults. A later plausible displayed pressure does not recreate a sustained electrical excursion recorded earlier.
The summary does not determine whether the high signal comes from wiring, the sensor or receiving electronics, and it does not provide a universal connector pin. The appropriate circuit procedure must localize the electrical issue before a pressure-based filter conclusion or component replacement is justified. The B label alone does not establish a universal physical bank assignment.
