P2565: turbo VGT SENT position input above its electrical range
P2565 detects an above-range raw position signal from the variable-geometry turbocharger SENT sensor.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2565 monitors the high electrical range of turbocharger position sensor A. The cited hardware is a SENT position sensor for variable-geometry turbocharger control, and the failure boundary is a raw signal above 99.00%.
A high input is not a boost verdict
The code's circuit-high label does not independently establish excessive boost or a vane mechanism stuck in a particular position. The raw signal and its digital validity are the evidence used here. A command near a normal end position must also be distinguished from feedback outside the allowed electrical range.
The check requires calibration enablement, no cranking, relay voltage above 11 V and absence of the listed SENT out-of-range and performance fault states. Reporting follows 480 failed samples out of 600 at a 6.25 ms task rate. The source assigns Type A, one trip.
Confirmation after diagnosis
Evaluate reported position and SENT status together, using the correct data scaling. A terminal-voltage assumption derived from the percentage would add information not provided by this table. Verify that the upper-range diagnostic actually completes after the input is restored, rather than relying only on a normal boost display. The summary establishes the monitored condition but does not choose between wiring, sensing electronics or another proven cause, and it gives no universal actuator-replacement instruction.
Source and application limits
This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 1505.
