P2568: G611 radiator identification is more than temperature feedback
Ross-Tech explains that VAG P2568 can concern the encrypted identity of the ozone-reducing radiator sensor as well as its temperature information.

P2568 has a generic ozone-reduction temperature-sensor label. Ross-Tech's VAG interpretation describes an implausible identification signal from G611 on the ozone-reducing radiator. Its source explanation is useful because this device communicates both an encrypted identity and temperature over LIN, rather than functioning as a simple interchangeable temperature probe.
Correct radiator identity matters
Ross-Tech lists an incorrect sensor identity and attempted bypassing among possible causes. It recommends verifying installation of G611 on the radiator. The page warns that removing the attached sensor intentionally damages it, so removal is not an appropriate exploratory check.
The reference also states that measuring-value blocks are not available for this information in the described system. An absent conventional temperature display therefore does not, by itself, establish a communication failure.
Check current parts information
Ross-Tech describes the sensor as supplied with a radiator and cites a Volkswagen installation bulletin. Parts availability can change, so that historical note should lead to current vehicle-specific parts and repair information rather than a universal purchase instruction. The code does not authorize bypassing emissions identification. This article explains the independent reference's identity-based diagnostic distinction and does not infer that every generic P2568 uses G611 or the same radiator arrangement.
