P2462: Intermittent pressure-sensor B faults need a time record, not one good reading
Understand Ford P2462’s analog intermittent classification and why missing dropout criteria should not be invented.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD summary, July 16, 2024 revision; only the described monitor and architecture. Model, engine and calibration fitment are not inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2462 identifies an intermittent or erratic analog circuit condition for particulate-filter pressure sensor B in Ford’s summary. It maps to P245E_1F, separate from the low and high electrical classifications. A single normal voltage reading cannot establish what happened during an intermittent signal event.
Preserve variation rather than only the final value
The analog circuit group runs continuously and lists five seconds of monitoring. The document supplies low and high voltage thresholds for the neighboring categories, but it does not publish a specific P2462 dropout count, allowed rate of change or intermittent-event formula here.
Those missing details should not be borrowed from a MAP-sensor monitor or invented from the word “erratic.” An intermittent classification is not automatically the same as a sustained low or high condition.
Confirm the pressure-sensing architecture
Record the full subtype, analog signal history, relevant command/operating state and associated circuit faults. Ford handles SENT pressure-sensor circuit and communication monitoring separately, so an analog intermittent code should not be converted into a digital timeout diagnosis without verifying the actual system.
The source does not identify a loose connector, failed sensor or blocked filter from P2462 alone. Vehicle-specific diagnosis must establish the applicable intermittent criteria and localize the changing signal. A later plausible pressure display is useful context, but it is not proof that the original electrical variation has been explained or resolved.
