P0757: Solenoid B failed-on monitoring needs the requested state as context
Understand Ford P0757 event filtering and the difference between a functional failed-on result and a short-to-power code.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0757 describes shift solenoid B as functionally failed on in Ford's general monitor. The label concerns a response that is wrong for the commanded operating state. It does not mean that every observed B-channel current or energized interval is abnormal.
Evaluate the command and response together
The source places functional checking around solenoid transitions and distinguishes it from continuous electrical diagnostics. In the typical functional filter, each bad event contributes three counts, while a correct non-shifting clutch state removes one. A stored result occurs at nine.
That history is important when reviewing an intermittent complaint. The last captured response may be correct without explaining the events that caused the diagnostic to mature. A complete record needs the command, operating phase and observed state over time.
A power short has its own identifier
The cited architecture table maps P0757 to P0755_7E. It gives P0977/P0755_12 for a short-to-power circuit classification on B. Treating those as synonyms can skip the distinction between electrical driver evidence and a functional response.
If an electrical fault is also present, preserve both results instead of assuming one proves the other's cause. If electrical status is normal, the functional failure still needs the matching transmission investigation. The summary contains no universal valve-body position, clutch assignment or replacement instruction for B; it supports a failure-category decision rather than a component verdict.
