P2765: Audi S tronic sensor-module diagnosis needs the DFCC

Audi’s bulletin requires P2765 and its exact DFCC before applying the G676 sensor-module repair to specified 0B5 transmissions.

Documented application

Audi TSB 2032211/3, January 11, 2016: 2010–2014 S4 and S5 Cabriolet; 2013–2014 S5, RS5, S6 and S7, equipped with 0B5 S tronic.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2765 can lead to a specific internal sensor-module repair on certain Audi 0B5 S tronic transmissions, but the generic code alone is insufficient. Audi TSB 2032211/3 requires P2765 with DFCC 8095 or 8104. The DFCC is the additional diagnostic identifier displayed with the fault, not the model year or a replacement-part number.

Match the correct scenario

The bulletin describes a gearbox malfunction message and two fault scenarios. P2765 belongs to the second scenario, where qualifying entries may appear individually or together and their logging order is irrelevant. This differs from the first scenario, which requires P179E to have occurred first. Applying that first-scenario order rule to P2765 would misread the bulletin.

Confirm the listed Audi model, year and 0B5 transmission before assessing the DFCC. A shortened scan report that shows only P2765 cannot demonstrate the exact match. Preserve the original diagnostic record and environmental data rather than substituting a generic description for Audi’s fault identifiers.

What the matched repair involves

When the condition matches, Audi directs replacement of the G676 sensor module with circuit board and replacement of its wiring loom. This is an internal transmission operation, not a recommendation to replace an easily accessible external speed sensor. The bulletin specifically requires transmission case disassembly and technician training.

A qualified workshop should use the applicable repair manual, current parts information and prescribed basic settings or adaptation. If the DFCC, transmission or vehicle scope differs, the bulletin does not justify that repair. Its historical parts table is not a guarantee of current part-number suitability.
